NSHS Faculty and Staff
 
Mrs. Allen is in her 11th year of teaching Mathematics.  Originally from Fairview, PA, Mrs. Allen attended KentStateUniversity, University of Pittsburgh, and Edinboro University of Pennsylvania where she received her BS in Secondary Education-Mathematics in 1995.  Mrs. Allen lives with her husband and their two children, and their Jack Russell Terrier - Jackie.  She is a “LOST” fan and enjoys making jewelry.
Mrs. Benton is a native New Yorker who has travelled the world thanks to military parents. She moved to Virginia in August 2008 with her husband who is a U.S. Marine. She received her Bachelor's Degree in English & Secondary Education in 2005 from Temple University in Philadelphia. Her hobbies include cooking, scrapbooking, and music. Mrs. Benton is excited to be a part of the Wolverine family here at NSHS.

 

Mr. Don Black earned his BS degree from Quincy University and has been with North Stafford High School since 2002. He is the huddle leader for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and teaches Health and PE. Coach Black resides in Stafford with his wife and two sons.

 

Mrs. Borgeson is a MN native who landed in VA in 1984. She has worked for SCPS since January of 1985.  She came to NSHS in May of 1988 and worked for 15 years as the Counseling Center Secretary.  She is currently Secretary to the Principal and the Office Manager.  Mrs. Borgeson is married to a retired Marine and has two daughters and three grandchildren.

Ms. Bratek is a native of Buffalo, New York. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and previously worked in the marketing field before pursuing her dream of becoming a teacher. She moved to Stafford County in 2009 and is happy to be a member of the Math department and Wolverine family. In her spare time, Ms. Bratek enjoys boating, reading, playing the flute, and spending time with her family and dog.

Lindsey Bruno has been the choral director at NSHS since 2005. Originally from Philadelphia, PA she received a BS in Music Education and a BA in Vocal Performance from Lebanon Valley College and a Masters in Music Education from Virginia Commonwealth University. Mrs. Bruno is an active performer with the Chamber Chorale of Fredericksburg.

 

Mrs. Burke is a native of IN. She moved to VA in December 1992. She started working for SCPS in September 1993. She came to NSHS in September 2002 and worked as an Assistant in the clinic. In September 2006 she started working as an Administrative Assistant. She is married and the mother of three children who graduated from NSHS. She enjoys traveling and boating.

 

Mrs. Caley grew up in King George County, VA. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish from Mary Washington College and her Masters in Spanish at GMU where she also taught for three semesters. She joined NSHS in 2007. Outside of school she enjoys spending time with her husband and kids and playing with their three dogs and two sugar gliders.

 

Mrs. Camacho is a Texas native, wife of an Air Force officer, and mom to three wonderful children.  She has worked for SCPS since 2002.

 

Mr. Casias is in his 11th year of teaching in SCPS. He is originally from Los Alamos, NM.   He has a BS in Health Education from VCU and a Master's in Exercise Fitness and Health Promotion from GMU. He is married and has two boys who attend SCPS. His hobbies include weightlifting, hiking, sports photography, and visiting Walt Disney World with his family. 

 

Ms. Clark is a PE teacher at NSHS. She has a BS Degree in Physical Education and an endorsement in Mathematics from Atlantic Christian College in Wilson, NC. She holds a Masters degree in Administration and Supervision from VT. She is a veteran teacher with over 25 years teaching experience in VA.

 

Bonjour! Mrs. Cooper has taught at NSHS for seven years. She is a Fredericksburg native, but she has lived, studied, and traveled all over the world. She attended Radford College, Bellevue Community College, Germanna Community College, le Collège International de Cannes, and finished her undergraduate education at the UMW. She completed her graduate studies at VCU. Her hobbies include gardening, cooking, and listening to all genres of music. She enjoys spending time with her family and her two cats!

 

Mr. Crawford was born and raised in OH. He grew up in a small town called Minerva, and went to High School in Canton, the home of the National Football Hall Of Fame. He went to college at The Ohio State University and graduated with a BS in Science Education. He has had many jobs with many organizations such as Big Brothers/ Big Sisters, the YMCA, CompuQuest Educational Services, the WildernessCenter and even the Columbus Zoo. He returned to teaching in 2001 at East Canton HS where he taught Biology. He moved to VA in 2002 to teach at King George HS where he taught Earth Science and Astronomy until 2007.  This is his first year at NSHS.

 

Mrs. Crespo was born in the Dominican Republic and graduated from Rutgers University. She has taught Spanish at NSHS since 2001. Prior to joining the NSHS staff she worked at G. Holmes Braddock Senior HS in Miami, FL. Mrs. Crespo and her husband moved to Virginia in 2000; they are the proud parents of two sons and a daughter and the VERY proud "Omi" and "Opi" to their grandson. Her hobbies are traveling, gardening, and pets.

 

Mrs. Crowell was born into a military family in San Diego, CA. After many moves around the country her family settled in VA. She graduated from East Carolina University with a BS in Hospitality Management and received her MED from UMW. She has taught special education for the past 7 years, 5 of which were at the middle school level. Prior to teaching, she managed restaurant, catering, and banquet facilities.

 

Mrs. Cwick has been teaching2 in SCPS for the past 12 year and for the last 3 years at NSHS.  She will be teaching 9th grade Health and PE. In addition to teaching Mrs. Cwick coaches the varsity field hockey team as well as varsity swimming team at NSHS.

 

Mrs. Danzig has been teaching at NSHS for 12 years. She is originally from OH and attended Ohio University where she received her BS in Secondary Education-Mathematics. Mrs. Danzig is married and has a son. She has taught Algebra 1 Part 1, Algebra 1, Geometry and Algebra 2. Her hobbies include being a soccer and Cub Scout Mom as well as enjoying car shows with her husband's 1928 Buick Opera Coupe.

Mrs. DeMarre is a Minnesota native and has been the Counseling Secretary since July of 2006. She is married to an Army warrant officer and has two teenage children. Mrs. DeMarre is currently completing her Bachelors in Elementary Education through the Dlite program at Bemidji State University.

 

Mrs. Diamantopoulos has been a teacher at NSHS since 2003. She is originally from Chadds Ford, PA. She graduated with a BS in Secondary Education and a BS in General Science from Penn State University. She recently graduated from Mississippi State University with an MS in Geosciences. Her interests include camping, gardening, art, and volleyball, and she is an active member of Stafford Crossing Community Church. She
lives with her husband and their two cats.

 

Mrs. Dodson is a TN native. She graduated from the University of Tennessee and taught in GA for twenty years. While teaching in GA she earned her Masters of Education and an additional 45 hours for a Specialist degree. Her hobbies are scrapbooking, running, travel, and reading. She lives with her husband, two sons, three cats and one dog.

 

Mr. Donahoe is a proud product of SCPS. He attended Stafford ES, Stafford MS, Stafford HS and was part of the first graduating class of BrookePointHS. He attended college at Randolph-Macon in Ashland, VA where he played lacrosse for four years and majored in English. He enjoys golf, music, motor scooters, and boating in his free time. 

Mrs. Droves is a graduate of the then Longwood College with a BA in History, Social Sciences, and Teacher Education Graduate of the University of Virginia with a MEd in Counselor Education.  I began teaching in Stafford County Back in the Fall of 1966 at the then Stafford Middle School and later became counselor/teacher. Migrated back home to Chesapeake, VA where I was teacher/counselor.
Returned to this area to become a counselor and later middle school director in Prince William Co. Later migrated to the then brand new Potomac High School as a counselor. During the Pr Wm tenure, I was club sponsor, SCA sponsor, Cheerleader Sponsor and the founder and sponsor of the Potomac Pantherettes.The Spring of 2000, I retired from Prince William. From there I became a counselor and ast administrator at Richard Milburn High School in Dumfries and later became the school principal. By the best of cirumstances, I stepped down from Milburn and became a part time Counselor here at North Stafford High School in the Fall of 2007--the very best position I have held in my professional career.

 

Mrs. Durham is a native Bostonian. She earned her BA at Gallaudet University in Washington, DC. She is a member of the American Sign Language Teacher Association, and she has worked with diversity of deaf and hard of hearing people population for years. She is currently working towards her Masters in Special Education. Mrs. Durham has 2 children, 3 cats, and 1 deaf dog. She loves teaching ASL. She loves drama/theatre. Her hobbies are writing poetry, spending time with family, outdoor activities, and traveling.


Mr. Elliott is a graduate of the University of Texas system with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications and a Master's in Counseling Psychology.   A native Texan, Mr. Elliott was a teacher, counselor, and administrator in Texas schools for 32 years before moving to Stafford.

 

Mr. Evans was born and raised in Northeast Ohio. After HS graduation, Mr. Evans enlisted in the U.S. Army as an active duty Military Police officer. While enlisted, Mr. Evans served in Korea and at Fort Belvoir and Fort Myer. After completing his enlistment, Mr. Evans returned to OH where he continued his law enforcement career. At 28 years old, he enrolled at Kent State University and obtained his Bachelors degree in Integrated Language Arts. Mr. Evans is married with five children, and he is the head coach of the NS JV Football Team. 

 

Mr. Everett is a member of The Ohio State University Alumni Association. He attended Ohio State University in 2002 – the year they won the NCAA Division I title in football.  He holds a B.A. in the Classical Languages of Greek and Latin, B.S. in Chemistry and Biology, and M.S. in Biochemistry. Mr. Everett likes to travel, fish, and play football, basketball, and baseball.

Mrs. Eyestone has been a part of the Wolverines family since March 1990. She began her teaching career at Merced Community College in Merced, CA. She then taught 5th grade at a DoDDS school in Stuttgart, Germany. She holds a BA from Mundelein College, Chicago, IL; a Multiple Subjects teaching credential from California State University-San Bernardino and a MED from GMU. In addition to teaching Early Childhood Education, she serves as the Department Chairperson of the Career & Technical Education (CTE) department, and co-sponsors FCCLA and Chinese Club. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, reading, scrapbooking, tennis and golf.
Mrs. Flood graduated with a BS in Art Education from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. She earned a Masters of Interdisciplinary Studies in Art from VCU. This is her 21st year of teaching art at NSHS. In her spare time she loves to garden and read.

Mr. Forder is a New York native. He received his Bachelors in Business Administration from SUNY Brockport and a Business Education certification from Buffalo State College. He moved to Virginia in 2008. He teaches a number of business courses including Advanced Programming, Keyboarding Applications, Sports Marketing, and Principles of Business. Mr. Forder also assists with the FBLA and DECA clubs.

Mrs. Garrison was born and raised in Virginia. She graduated from the University of Mary Washington in 1989. She taught English and Journalism at NSHS until 1998. She spent the next 11 years as a stay-home-mom, volunteering at her two daughters' schools and at church. She also worked part time as a field trip instructor at Belmont, the Gari Melchers Estate . In February of 2009, Mrs. Garrison returned to NSHS. Her hobbies include reading, scrapbooking and spending time with her family at the river.

 

Ms. Gatewood is originally from St. Louis, MO. She received her BS Ed. with a second major in Psychology. Ms. Gatewood moved to VA in 1981 and has taught at NSHS since 1991. She has a Masters in Liberal Arts from MWC and a Masters in Educational Leadership from George Mason.

 

Colonel Gelfand is a transplanted Marylander. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Maryland and a Masters in Strategic Intelligence at the National Military Intelligence College. He is an Air Force retiree. Col Gelfand has taught secondary school science and is in his third year as Senior Aerospace Science Instructor at NSHS. His hobbies include sailing, auto mechanics, and computer hardware.

 

Mrs. Hagermann was born in Washington, DC and grew up in central PA. She moved to Virginia when she graduated college in 2004 and began teaching at NSHS. She has earned her bachelor of arts in history secondary education from Saint Francis University and currently teaches US/VA History. Mrs. Hagermann is the senior class sponsor, head cross country coach, and a member of the Renaissance Committee. She lives in Fredericksburg with her husband, Adam, and dog Bailey, and enjoys traveling, visiting family and friends, and shopping in her free time.

 

 

Mrs. Hokana, a NY native, graduated from Malloy College in Rockville Center, NY with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She has been a Registered Nurse since 1982. Her background is in Med/Surg Nursing, Pediatrics, Intensive Care, and Labor and Delivery. Mrs. Hokana is a Certified CPR instructor. She has lived in Stafford for the past 16 years and for the past five years NSHS’s nurse. 

 

Mr. Dan Johnson is a retired Army officer and has been teaching at NSHS since 1994. He has taken courses at several schools, and has degrees in Mathematics and Operations Research.  He is married and has two adult sons.

 

Mr. Kenny Johnson is originally from Stafford County. He earned his engineering technology degree from the Maryland Drafting Institute and was a project manager for a local sub-contractor prior to joining NSHS's teaching community. Mr. Johnson is currently a project manager for an architectural firm in Fredericksburg and a member of the Fredericksburg City Architectural Review Board. He holds certifications in AutoCAD, design drafting, architectural drafting and home inspections.

 

Dr. Kay was born in Brussels, Belgium and grew up predominantly in West Germany and the USA. She received both her BA in Broadcast Journalism and her BS in English Education from Minot State University in North Dakota. Her Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction was completed through University of Phoenix, and she completed her PhD in February of 2008 in Post-Secondary and Adult Education from Capella University. She is married to an active duty Marine who is currently stationed at Quantico MCB, between them they have five children. Her hobbies include spending time with her family, reading, and writing.

Mr. Kerestely was born in Romania, and is fluent in Hungarian and Romanian. He has lived in many different states, including AZ, CO, OH, and LA. He teaches Oceanography and Biology next semester.

 

Mr. Knudstrup grew up in a small town in MI, on the shores of Lake Michigan. He is married with 3 children and 5 grandchildren. He attended Michigan State University but he received both his Bachelor's and Masters at Central Michigan University. He also attended graduate school at Florida State University where he studied Instructional Design. His teaches Chemistry, and he is an adjunct faculty member at Germanna Community College.  

Sra. Kotheimer is a native speaker from Colombia, South America.  She received her bachelor's degree in Spanish Linguistics and Literature from a major University in Bogotá.  She completed graduate studies in Bogotá and at VT and participated in seminars at UVA. Prior to joining the Spanish Department at NSHS she taught at the VA Governor's Spanish Academy in Staunton for 7 years and elsewhere in the US for 20 years.

 

Mr. Kozlowski has an AS in physical therapy from Chowan College and a BS in Sports Medicine from the University at Buffalo. He was an employee for HealthSouth Physical Therapy in Tampa, FL for seven years and was head athletic trainer for the Tampa Bay Storm of the Professional Arena Football League. After six years at Washington-Lee H.S. in Arlington he is now part of the NSHS family.

 

Mr. Labrusciano teaches World History I and II. He earned his BA in History from Tusculum College. He is the Head Baseball Coach at NSHS.

 

Mr. Lawrence has taught Horticultural courses at NSHS since August 2006. He graduated from Purdue University with a BS Degree in Agricultural Education. He has a practical background in crop, soil, and animal sciences. 

 

Mrs. Leitner is a RI native. She moved to VA with her family in 1996. She has three children – one who graduated from NSHS in 2006, one who graduated from NSHS in June 2008, and one who came to NSHS as a freshman in 2008. She has an Associates Degree in Medical Assistance and an Associates Degree in Medical Secretarial Sciences. Mrs. Leitner is also CPR and first-aide certified. She is the Clinic Assistant at NSHS. I love NSHS - Go Wolverines!

 

Mrs. MacIsaac is a CA native and received her BS in Nursing in 1990.   She has specialized in emergency medicine, pediatric ICU, and the recovery room. She has enjoyed living all over the world. She moved to VA in July 2007. She has enjoyed many types of nursing, but her favorite is teaching her nursing students here at NSHS. Mrs. MacIsaac loves to travel, read, craft, and spend time with her husband and their four daughters.

 

Mr. Matheney was born in the mountains of VA, and raised in Spotsylvania County. He graduated in 1971 from Spotsylvania HS and attended VMI. Drafted into the military in 1972, he retired as an Army NCO (Military Police) in 1994. While in the Army he acquired Associate's Degrees in German and General Studies. After retirement he completed a BA in History from the University of Maryland and an MS in Education from ODU. Mr. Matheney has 4 years experience in Special Education at NSHS, and has taught US History and Government for 7 years.

 

Ms. McClain began her teacher career in 1999. She has taught elementary school in New York and has been a high school English teacher at North Stafford since 2002. Ms. McClain is a graduate of Old Dominion University, where she earned her Master of Science degree in Curriculum and Instruction. She will earn her Educational Leadership Endorsement in December 2009.

 

Mrs. McCluskey graduated from Eastern Illinois University and taught in NH and WI prior to moving to VA. She has been teaching in SCPS for the past 17 years. Mrs. McCluskey is married with two children.

 

Mrs. McElfish, an NC native, received her teaching degree from ECU, taught English for 33 years, and has been in charge of Gifted and Accelerated programs at NSHS for the past 5 years. 

 

Mrs. Miller was born in NY and moved to VA to begin her teaching career. She earned a Bachelors Degree in Special Education at the State University of New York at Geneseo.  She has taught in the Special Education and Mathematics Departments at NSHS since 1985.

 

Mr. Monahan is a veteran of the U.S. Navy Submarine Service. He retired from the Navy in 1988 after 23 years service. A 1995 GMU graduate, he taught in Prince William County for five years before moving to NSHS seven years ago. Mr. Monahan holds teaching licenses in Special Education and History. He and his wife of 38 years have two grown children.

Austin Nicholas has been Director of Bands at North Stafford High School since 2008. Prior to North Stafford, he spent one year as Director of Bands at Denbigh High School in Newport News, Virgina. After graduating from West Point High School in West Point, Virginia, he received his Bachelor of Music with an emphasis in Instrumental Music Education and Applied Trombone from James Madison University. His primary teacher was Dr. Andrew Lankford, Professor of Trombone, James Madison University. Mr. Nicholas is active in music education throughout Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic region.

 

Mrs. Ralph is a Philadelphia native. She worked as a Supervisor for Bell Fuel Corporation for 13 years and later earned her Dental and Radiology Licenses. Joanne assisted in Dental Implant Surgery with Dr. Carl Steinberg which she found to be a rewarding occupation before moving to Stafford County. In 1994 Joanne began working for Stafford County Public Schools and has been at North Stafford High School since 2001. Gardening, crocheting, and reading are some of her hobbies.

 

Ms. Ray is a native of Ashland, VA. She earned a BS from JMU and Masters in Administration from UVA. She has been a teacher at NSHS since it opened. She has served as department head, principal intern, and assistant to the Athletic Director.  She has coached boys and girls track, and boys and girls cross country. She and her husband live on a farm in Spotsylvania where they breed and raise Appaloosa horses.

 

Mrs. Reif is a graduate of Moore College of Art in Philadelphia PA. She received her Masters Degree from VCU and has been teaching at NSHS for 17 years. She enjoys photography and painting.

 

Mrs. Rinckey has been teaching at NSHS for four years.  She has an Earth Science degree from Central Michigan University and is currently working on a Master's degree from Mississippi State University. She lives with her husband.

 

Mrs. Rossi was born in Baltimore MD, grew up in OH, attended the University of Kentucky, and graduated from Ball State University in Muncie IN. Her areas of study were Chemistry and Physics. She has held a variety of jobs while traveling the world with her Army husband, and she recently returned to teaching Chemistry. Her hobbies are reading and watching her kids play sports.

 

Mr. Schaller is a 1989 graduate of St. John’s College in Annapolis MD with a BA in Philosophy and Minor in Physics and a 1994 graduate of GMU with an MA in Education and Minor in Physics. He has taught Physics, Honors Physics, Conceptual Physics, Mainstreamed Physics, Self-Contained Physics, AP Physics, Earth Science, Biology, Algebra, Gardening, English, Basic Math, Social Studies, and Environmental Science in the classroom.

Mrs. Searles attended the State University of New York at Potsdam where she received a BA degree in Mathematics and Secondary Education with a 5/6 extension and received her coaching certificate.  Mrs. Searles is a member of the Mathematics Department and teaches Geometry with Applications and Algebra II.  Mrs. Searles is excited to be a Wolverine and looks forward to a great year!

 

Mrs. Shay is a native Nebraskan who completed her undergraduate work at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and her Master's at the University of Kansas. She taught English and psychology for 5 years in KS and has been a counselor in NE, IA, SD and NC.  Mrs. Shay has lived in London and Prague. Her husband, four children and a lazy cat keep her busy outside of NSHS.

 

Ms. Sine graduated from West Virginia University in 2005 with an MED and a Bachelors degree in Multidisciplinary Sciences and Biology. This will be her third year teaching at NSHS. She teaches Biology and Ecology. In the spring, she will coach the girls JV soccer team.

 

Mr. Skeen is a 20 year U.S. Army veteran. He holds a B.A. from the University of Charleston, an M.A. from California State University, and an MED from Old Dominion University. He has completed doctoral work with North Central University. In addition to teaching at NSHS, Mr. Skeen is also an adjunct faculty member at Park University where he teaches World Religions, US History, and Humanities classes. His interests include walking, reading, music, and travel.

 

Mrs. Slye is originally from Northwestern PA. She received her BA in Mathematics from Edinboro University of PA and her Masters in Learning Development for Montana State University-Northern. She has taught Mathematics at Rocky Grove HS, Franklin, PA; Park University, Great Falls, MT; Lompoc HS, Lompoc, CA, and CM Russell HS, Great Falls, MT, before coming to NSHS. Mrs Slye, her husband, and two boys moved to the area in July 2007.

 

Mrs. Smiley grew up in Somerset, NJ and attended college at the University of Maryland. She studied Art History and Archaeology and had an opportunity to work on archaeological digs in Israel. After settling in Stafford 19 years ago and raising her two sons, Mrs. Smiley worked as a paraprofessional and substitute teacher in SCPS while earning her Masters Degree in School Counseling. Mrs. Smiley is in her fifth year as a School Counselor, having worked at Moncure ES before coming to NSHS. She enjoys gardening, boating and home improvement.

Mrs. Smith grew up in western Pennsylvania in the little town of Indiana. She received her BS in Elementary Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) and a Curriculum and Instruction MEd. from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. After moving to Virginia she received an additional degree from George Mason University as a Reading Specialist. In her free time, Mrs. Smith enjoys spending time with her family most of all. She is a mom of three children that keep her very busy and they love to be in the outdoors.

 

Mrs. South is a Louisiana native. She earned her BA in English Education at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond. She taught English for six years in LA. She is glad to be a member of the Wolverine family.

 

Mrs. Snively has taught mathematics at NSHS for seven years. She completed her MED at ODU and her BS in Mathematics from Bowie State. She is married to a retired Marine and has two children who both graduated from NSHS. She loves to travel, watch football, and play scrabble.

 

Mr. Stauffer was born in Bloomsburg PA. He moved to VA in 1997 and worked for Stafford County Parks and Recreation before moving to North Stafford to teach in 1999. He has a BS in Biology with a concentration in Marine Sciences and an MS in Geosciences. He is married with two children and his wife is a first grade teacher at Winding Creek.

 

 

Mrs. Swift was born in the Philippines, raised in San Diego and did her undergraduate work at San Diego State University. She received her Master’s degree from ODU.  Mrs. Swift loves to travel and has accompanied her students to Costa Rica, Mexico and Spain. Her husband is a retired Marine, and they have three daughters - all of whom graduated from NSHS.

 

Mrs. Terry is a native of Philadelphia and graduate of West Chester University. She holds a degree in Business Management, and she has worked in retail banking and finance. She started in SCPS in 1996 as a substitute teacher. Currently, she teaches Learn & Serve – a student community school and community service course.  She is a wife and proud mother of two children.  "Glad to be a part of the WOLVERINE FAMILY"

Ms. Traylor graduated from Colonial Forge High School and earned her BS in Biology from Christopher Newport University. She was an All-American in field hockey at CNU and was in the rock climbing club. Ms. Traylor teaches Oceanography and Biology and is the assistant varsity field hockey coach. She enjoys hiking, running, being outdoors and playing with her yellow lab, Abby.

 

Mr. Vest served in the Navy for 26 years in the Nuclear Submarine program. He completed his AA from St. Leo College while on active duty. He attended ODU in 1997 after retiring from the Navy, and he earned a BS in Technology Education in 1999. He taught CAD based Engineering and Architectural Drafting classes in Rockbridge County, VA for 8 years prior before moving to NSHS.

 

Mrs. Vincent was born and raised in OR and graduated from Oregon State University and San Diego State University with a BA in Home Economics. This is in her 22nd year of teaching, and she has taught at NSHS for 17 years. She is co-sponsor of FCCLA. She is married to a retired Marine and has two children.  She and her husband own a sailboat and spend much of their time sailing on the Chesapeake Bay. Her hobbies include painting, quilting, and travel.

 

Mr. Vitas is a VT graduate with a BS in Education. He was captain on VT's Varsity Soccer Team, and he coached HS and MS soccer for 16 seasons. He has 25 years of teaching experience in both MS and HS. He has taught; Industrial Arts, Technology Education, Technology Foundations, Technology Transfer, Introduction to Engineering, Drafting, and Cabinet Making. He currently teaches Small Engine Repair, and Horticulture. He has a young son and daughter, and a wonderful wife. His hobbies include building furniture, metal working, home remodeling, and gardening.

 

Dr. Ware is a native of Washington, DC and has resided in Stafford for nine years. She considers learning to be a life-long process and has degrees from the District of Columbia Teachers College, Catholic University, University of Southern California, and University of the District of Columbia. Prior to joining SCPS, she worked for the Department of Defense Overseas Schools in Germany, England, and Korea as an educator and administrator. She has taught all levels of Spanish at NSHS. She also sponsors Students Serving Stafford, and she coaches the Wolverette Dance teams. Dr. Ware enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, cooking, sewing, and reading.

 

Mr. Watts is a Special Education teacher who recently taught at Quantico Middle HS. He is returning to SCPS for the 2007—2008 school year. During his first stint in Stafford County, he taught at SHS. He graduated from Longwood College with a BS degree in Liberal Studies/Special Education and is pursuing a Masters degree through Regent University in Educational Leadership.

 

Mr. Williams is completing his 19th year at NSHS. His 39 years of teaching include 16 years of teaching college and 23 years of secondary education. He teaches Driver Education and PE. He graduated from Fairmount State University and completed his Masters at West Virginia University.

 

Ms. Wingate has been a Special Education teacher since 2004. She moved to North Stafford in 2007 where she is continuing her career. She is originally from Pennsylvania where she spent much of her childhood. Ms. Wingate graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Special Education and obtained her Masters degree through Grand Canyon University. Her teaching experience includes elementary school, high school and she was also an online teacher in Pennsylvania.
